What’s More American Than Phil Mickelson High-Kicking A Bottle Off Someone’s Head Wearing American Flag Pants?
Salute the flag when you see it today… even if the flag is in “pants” form.
On our nation’s birthday, it’s very likely that you’ll see people breaking out their most patriotic outfits to celebrate accordingly. I’m currently wearing one of my favorite shirts, which features a bald eagle wearing an American flag bandana and sporting some spiffy aviator sunglasses.
Others might take it a step further, like Phil Mickelson did back at the 2018 Ryder Cup. To talks sports for a second, “Lefty” didn’t do all that great during the actual golf playing of that Ryder Cup, but he had one heck of a highlight during a party at the event. Phil threw on his best pair of U.S.A. slacks and decided to put his athleticism on display.
Mickelson placed a bottle of water on what appears to be his teammate Zach Johnson’s head. Was he planning on shooting it off with a bow and arrow? Maybe hitting one of his famous flop shots to knock it off his Ryder Cup teammate’s noggin? Nope… he had something else in mind.
Without much hesitation, Phil got himself into position, then swung one leg of his American flag pants high up into the air. Impressively, the golfer effortlessly knocked the bottle off of Johnson’s head without touching (or hurting) any other part of him. Who said golfers weren’t athletes?
So ring in the 4th of July by watching Phil Mickelson fly his American flag trousers through the sky to kick a bottle off someone’s head, and maybe even let it inspire you to try and do the same later on today at your respective Independence Day cookout:
