Simona Halep rips Jannik Sinner and calls for unequal treatment
One of the harshest criticisms leveled against Jannik Sinner (or against those who judged him) concerns the unequal treatment and sentence compared to similar cases relating to the assumption – voluntary or unknowing – of doping substances; criticisms that also came from Simona Halep.
While on the one hand we talk about tennis, with the Italian among the main favorites at the US Open, on the other hand the controversy continues over the acquittal regarding the doping case, with some tennis players who did not appreciate this decision.
Nick Kyrgios is in fact continuing his criticism against the Italian tennis player, but, in the last few hours, the Romanian champion has also spoken out, having returned to compete a few months ago after a doping ban of a year and a half.

While stating that the cases are not completely similar (the Romanian was unable to justify her positive doping test and had a higher positive test), Simona shared harsh words towards the federation, speaking of a treatment that she judges quite different. While Sinner was acquitted and the federation only took away points and money from the Indian Wells tournament, Simona received a harsh suspension and remained out for a long time. To the Romanian media, as reported by Spotmedia.ro, the two-time Slam champion analyzed:
“I think we all have a clear and visible understanding of what happened. The whole situation was judged in a completely different way and I suffered a lot. Unlike this case, I waited a long time and I don’t think this is right. I believe that all athletes should have the same treatment, regardless of whether you are number 1 or number 200 in the world. I don’t think what happened is right, but now I want to leave this topic behind me. Life is beautiful and I want to continue it without problems,” she said.
Simona Halep says Jannik Sinner’s case was judged in a completely different way than her case, ‘I don’t think it was fair that I wasn’t allowed to compete for so long’
