Charlie Woods, Tiger Woods son, to play in PGA Tour event pre-qualifier
Charlie Woods, son of the legendary Tiger Woods with 15 major titles under his belt, is stepping onto the golf course with aspirations of qualifying for the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic. At just 15 years old, Woods will showcase his skills in an 18-hole pre-qualifying event at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida, scheduled for Thursday.
This pre-qualifier is one of four such events, with approximately 25 players and ties from each advancing to a Monday qualifier. From there, four players will secure coveted spots in the Cognizant Classic, set to take place from February 29 to March 3 at PGA National Resort.
While Charlie Woods may be relatively new to competitive golf, he’s no stranger to the sport’s spotlight. He’s previously teamed up with his father in the PNC Championship, finishing as runner-up in 2021. Despite Tiger’s recent withdrawal from the Genesis Invitational due to illness, Charlie is forging ahead with his own golfing journey, aiming to make a mark in the world of professional golf.
