First time in a year. Iga Swiatek has lost her status of the world number one
Today, the WTA released its updated rankings, revealing only two changes within the top 10, one of which occurred at the very summit.
Details: For the first time in a year, Polish tennis star Iga Świątek has lost her status as the world’s number one. She has dropped to second place, with Aryna Sabalenka, who currently represents no nation on tour, taking over as the new leader.
Additionally, Daria Kasatkina climbed into the top 10, following her victory at the Ningbo tournament yesterday. She now holds the ninth spot.
American Danielle Collins has fallen out of the top 10, slipping to 11th place.
Reminder: Yesterday, Jannik Sinner defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the final of the Six Kings Slam exhibition tournament, securing the largest prize money in tennis history.
